  • lemons - 2 - 3 lemons
  • grapefruits - 1 - 2 red
  • oranges - 3
  • sugar - 8 1/3 cups (2 kg) more or less, to taste
  • citric acid - 2 - 3 sachets
  • water - 12 1/2 cups (3 liters)

How to make

Clean all the citrus very well so there's no dirt on the peels. Cut them into pieces, along with the peels, and grind them in a meat grinder or put them in the food processor.

Transfer them to a pot and add water. Stir and allow to sit for 24 hours. The next day, strain through a cheesecloth, add the strained juice, sugar and citric acid. Stir until the sugar has melted.

Dispense into bottles and store in the refrigerator. Optionally, serve diluted with a little carbonated water.
