Ingredients

  • butter - 2 oz (50 g)
  • eggs - 2
  • sugar - 1 cup
  • lemon juice - 2 tbsp
  • lemon zest - 1 tbsp
  • flour - 1 - 1/2 cup
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/8 tsp
  • milk - 1/2 cup
  • for the glaze
  • lemon juice - 2 tbsp
  • powdered sugar - 1/2 cup

How to make

Beat the butter and sugar in a large bowl until you obtain a light and smooth mixture. Add the eggs, lemon juice and grated peel. Gradually add the flour, baking powder and salt.

Slowly pour the milk in, constantly stirring well. Pour the mixture into a baking dish. Put the bread to bake at 360°F (180°C) for 45 minutes.

Mix the ingredients for the glaze. Once the bread is ready, remove it from the container you baked it in and smear it with the glaze. Leave to cool.
