What Coffee Should We Choose

Hmmm, have you ever opened your eyes in the morning looking forward to just be hit by the scent of a cup of flavored coffee, which you can sip on with great pleasure… Great start to the day!

However, your day can also start terribly if you have chosen poor quality coffee - flavorless, rancid and watery. In fact, it is better not to drink it at all than to force yourself. Do not think that you will get used to its disgusting taste and that with each passing sip it will become more pleasant.

In order not to be in similar situations, it is important to know what coffee to choose.

The main coffee varieties are Arabica, Robusta and Liberica, with each variety having its own sub-varieties, and the taste of the coffee beans depends a lot on the region in which they are grown and how they are processed. Mentioning processing, it is important to share that there are 16 degrees of bean roasting. But let's not go into it that much.

The most popular, expensive and preferred coffee is of the Arabica variety. According to Wikipedia, it accounts for about 60% of the world's total coffee production, but according to other data, the percentages are more like 70%.

Which coffee is the best?

The Arabica variety has a lower caffeine content and a correspondingly milder taste. It is thick, with a thick foam and with a superb aroma and taste. This is the main reason why it is considered the best quality, but not the reason why it is so expensive. The latter is a consequence due to the fact that Arabica is very difficult to grow and often gets sick.

Sometimes the losses for its producers are huge, and in some countries where it is grown, cars are even sprayed with preparations to protect the coffee from diseases. As is the case with Colombia, where the highest quality Arabica coffee comes from.

The Robusta variety has about 2% more caffeine and antioxidants than the Arabica variety. This makes it quite bitter and astringent in taste, and in most cases its aroma is also much weaker. However, this coffee also has its fans and is especially popular among those trying to lose weight (caffeine boosts metabolism and leads to weight loss). Let's not forget its price, which is much more acceptable than the Arabica variety. Did you guess why? Because it is much more resistant to infections and does not require as much care in terms of its cultivation.

We will finish with the Liberica coffee variety, which is the cheapest and lowest quality coffee. Unless you have some strange notions about tasty and aromatic coffee, we'd suggest serving it only to your enemies.

Coffee

Finally, we will add that the most preferred coffee in terms of its preparation method remains espresso, as the very name espresso is Italian and means prepared under pressure. This is done by using a coffee machine or a classic coffee maker.

There are people who also like Turkish coffee, which is made in a cezve just by mixing water and coffee and waiting for them to boil. However, it is suitable only for those who like very strong coffee. It is definitely a wonderful opportunity to start your day with a good mood.

Everyone else who likes the aroma of coffee but finds it too bitter can make cappuccino, mochaccino, iced coffee, etc.
