Oranges are one of the most healthy citrus fruits. They are rich in sugars, citric acid and vitamin A, vitamin C and vitamin E. It is thanks to vitamin C that our body absorbs carbohydrates, fats and proteins.
In addition, vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, has the ability to strengthen blood vessels and accelerate wound healing.
Vitamins and trace elements contained in oranges help reduce swelling in the body, overcome general weakness, indigestion, bronchial infections and more.
The good news is that the beneficial properties of oranges are preserved in the preparation of fresh orange juice. There are many ways to make fresh orange juice - from simply squeezing the fruit with a citrus press, to making fresh juices with brown sugar or honey.
You can make fresh orange juice by simply squeezing well-washed oranges and mixing them with a little water and honey or other fresh squeezed juice. But you can prepare a fresh juice with oranges, in which you can add their peels, which are usually also full of nutrients.
For this you need 4 large oranges, which are covered in boiling water to remove the wax on their skins. Then the oranges are dried and stored in the freezer, where they should be frozen for 6-8 hours.
Then cut the oranges and blend them in a food processor or blender, pour 3 liters of cold boiled water and leave them for about 10 minutes. The resulting mixture is filtered through a colander and another 1.6 gal (6 liters) of water is added, 1.7 lb (800 g) of brown sugar or 1.1 lb (500 g) of honey, as well as 1 oz (30 g) of citric acid.
The freshly squeezed orange juice is mixed and distributed in glass bottles, which should be stored in the refrigerator.
