Cleaning the fridge is one of the most tedious household chores. It is recommended that you do this at least once a month. This will facilitate the longer storage of products in it, as well as prevent the formation of unpleasant odors in the refrigerator.
Modern refrigerators don't really need to be turned off as often, nor do you need to turn them upside down for optimal performance. Most of them are equipped with automatic anti-freeze systems and hardly accumulate ice.
If ice does build up, you need to defrost the fridge to clean it. It's easiest to just unplug it, open its door wide, and leave it for a few hours to melt the ice inside.
In case you don't have that much time, you can speed up the defrosting process of the refrigerator by placing a container of warm water in it. As a last resort to quickly defrost a refrigerator, you can gently heat the ice with a hair dryer.
In no case should you try to remove the accumulated ice from the refrigerator with the help of sharp objects, so that it doesn't damage it.
