Fresh parsley is one of the most healthy herbs. It contains many vitamins, minerals and other nutrients, which makes it a natural medicine. Parsley purifies the blood, lowers blood sugar, improves vision and boosts the immunity. As a spice, it is used in all kinds of salads and healthy soups.
We also decorate with parsley cold sandwiches, appetizer dishes, party bites and many other culinary creations.
Nowadays, fresh parsley can be found in winter, but scientists warn, that it does not have the same rich composition of vitamins and minerals as the seasonal spice grown in summer. That's why it's a good idea to pick and freeze parsley in the freezer for the winter. Preserved in this way, the green spice does not lose its useful substances and can be used safely. It will also make it much easier for the cooks.
How to freeze parsley in the freezer?
Here the options are different. The most basic option is to choose a healthy and young parsley, which you can wash well, dry and then cut into small pieces. Divide it into small packets, so that you take it out of the freezer every time you cook. If you put parsley in the freezer in large packages, it will turn into an ice cube and it will be difficult for you to separate small amounts from it, which you need for one cooking.
However, this problem can be solved in another way. After you finely chop the parsley, distribute it in ice cube trays. Freeze them for 2 days, then separate the resulting cubes and put them together in bags in the freezer. With this method of freezing, the parsley will not stick and you will be able to take out 1 or 2 cubes for each cooking.
You can add frozen parsley to soups and meat stews, as well as vegetable dishes. The dishes with parsley are countless!
