What is the Difference Between Arabica Coffee and Robusta Coffee

Coffee is among the most popular drinks in the world. Making a cup of aromatic coffee has become almost an art by the masters - baristas.

However, the taste of coffee depends on whether we choose Arabica or Robusta.

There are three types of coffee in the world:

- Arabica;

- Robusta;

- Liberica.

Although they are from the same family, these three types of coffee have different botanical features and require different climatic conditions for growth.

With the richest taste and aroma and with the highest quality, Arabica stands out. It is low in caffeine, which makes this type of coffee suitable for frequent use.

Its taste is slightly sour and fruity and even chocolate flavors can be found in it. Arabica coffee, made in an espresso machine forms a thick foam.

Most gourmet coffees on the market have 100% Arabica content. Robusta has almost twice as much caffeine as Arabica.

This is due to its bitter taste, which is sometimes defined as the taste of burnt coffee or even analgin.

Some types of Robusta are widely used in making espresso blends mainly for Italian style coffee.

The best for the rich taste of coffee are the combinations with a predominant content of Arabica, about 80-90% and less, between 10-20% Robusta.

Robusta provides density and Arabica gives a rich taste and blend of coffee aromas. The third variety of Liberica coffee is of extremely low quality and it is hardly ever used.
