How to make
To make the filling, beat the eggs with the sugar, oil, the yoghurt with baking soda dissolved in it, the flour and cinnamon.
Add the grated apples, ground walnuts and mix everything very well. Take a phyllo pastry sheet, sprinkle it with melted butter, cover with a 2nd sheet and sprinkle it with butter as well.
Put 3 tbsp of the mixture at one end, fold the sheet up into a roll. Put it in a buttered tray, repeat the process with the remaining sheets. Bake the strudel 25-30 min. at 360°F (180 °C).
To make the syrup, mix the apple juice with the sugar and leave it to boil, add the lemon juice and remove from the stove. Pour the cooled syrup over the cold strudel. Optionally, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
