  • pork shanks - 2
  • onions - 2 heads
  • bay leaf - 2 - 3
  • garlic - 5 - 6 cloves
  • olive oil - 2 - 3 tbsp
  • paprika - 2 tsp
  • black pepper - 5 - 6 peppercorns
  • potatoes - 4
  • carrots - 2
  • wine - 1 cup

How to make

Choose 2 large medium-sized pork shanks. Rinse them with cold water and put them in a deep pressure cooker. Add the finely chopped onions, whole garlic cloves, carrots and unpeeled potatoes.

Pour white wine and olive oil over the products, add the spices and pour in water to cover them. Close the pot and boil for 1 hour on moderate heat (after it whistles).

Transfer the boiled shanks to a suitable deep tray. Peel the potatoes, cut them and add to the meat. Mash the rest of the products together and pour the resulting sauce over the shanks and potatoes. Bake the dish about 30-35 min. in a preheated 360°F (180 °C) oven.
