How to make
Combine the dry ingredients, excluding the sugar. Beat the eggs with the sugar to a fluffy cream using a mixer. Add the dry mixture in stages.
Pour the mixture into a 10″ (26 cm) oven dish, laid out with baking paper. Bake the layer in a preheated 360°F (180 °C) oven until ready.
Once baked, invert it into a suitable plate and remove the baking paper. Divide them in 2 horizontally and leave them to cool completely.
In the meantime, beat the liquid cream with a mixer. To it, add the sour cream, powdered sugar and vanilla, mix well with a spatula.
Assemble the cake layers together, smearing them generously with the cream mixture. Sprinkle with caramelized sugar on top.
