How to make
Put the butter in a bowl and beat it with the sugar. Add the whisked eggs, stir well and gradually add the flour with baking powder. Stir well.
In a bowl, mix the crumbled almonds, chopped dried fruits, grated zest, (optional chocolate and Turkish delight) and the spices. Stir well and pour into an 8″ (20 cm) diameter form which you've covered with baking paper (bottom and sides).
Put the cake in a preheated 300°F (150 °C) oven. Bake for 1 hour 15 min. Once it's ready, take it out of the oven and sprinkle with dried fruits and walnuts (chopped).
Mix the honey and rum in a bowl and pour it over the cake. Return to the oven for 10-15 min. Leave the cake to cool completely in the form. Take it out and remove the baking paper.
Store the cake wrapped in paper in a box with a lid. Be sure to pour rum or cognac over it every few days (pour orange juice instead if kids are going to be eating it too).
This cake lasts up to several weeks.
The quantities of fruits are just to give you an idea, you decide which ones you're going to use more or less of.
