Ingredients

  • veal - 2 lb (1 kg)
  • orzo - 2 cups (500 g)
  • onions - 1 head
  • garlic - 2 cloves
  • tomatoes - 1
  • white wine - 4/5 cup (200 ml)
  • cheese - 7 oz (200 g)
  • bay leaf
  • oil
  • salt
  • water

How to make

Cut the meat into bites and braise them. Chop the onions and garlic very finely and add them to the meat.

Once they've been braised a bit, pour in the wine and water. Leave on low heat to boil. Taste the meat - if it's not ready add more water.

Once it's ready and simmering in sauce, add the grated tomato, bay leaf and salt. Once the water from the tomato evaporates, remove from the stove.

Boil the orzo in a separate container in boiling water for about 15 min. Strain it and add it to the veal. Stir and sprinkle with cheese upon serving!
