"Today we eat like the Swiss, so we`re going to offer you this lovely homemade Swiss cake - a true delight."

Ingredients

  • apples - 9 oz (250 g)
  • almonds - 1/5 cup (70 g)
  • raisins - 1/5 cup (60 g)
  • milk - 1 1/5 cups (300 g)
  • semolina - 3 tbsp (45 g)
  • butter - 1/2 cup (120 g)
  • eggs - 3
  • sugar - 1/2 cup (120 g)
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp

How to make

Pour the semolina in hot milk and boil for about 3 min., while stirring nonstop. Then leave it to cool. Mix the softened butter with the sugar and beat until you get a foam.

Gradually add the egg yolks and 1/5 cup (60 g) chopped almonds, the raisins and cinnamon. Mix the egg yolk mixture with the semolina mixture, the peeled and thinly sliced apples. Finally add the beaten to hard snow egg whites.

Pour the resulting dough in an oiled and sprinkled with breadcrumbs baking form and bake in a low oven. Once it's ready, decorate it with the remaining almonds.
