  • cognac - 2/5 cup (100 ml)
  • breadcrumbs - 1/5 cup (70 g)

How to make

Combine the poppy seeds and walnuts together and grind them. Separate the egg yolks from the whites. Beat the yolks with the sugar, mix them with the walnuts and poppies, add 3 1/3 tbsp (50 g) of breadcrumbs.

Beat the egg whites into snow and add them to the poppy seed mixture. Divide the dough into 2 oven dishes, which you've buttered and sprinkled with breadcrumbs and bake for 30 min. at 390°F (200 °C). Let it cool.

Make the cream with the cottage cheese by mixing the 2 ingredients together.

To make the vanilla cream, beat the cream with the powdered sugar and vanilla. Syrup both cake layers with cognac, then smear one of them with the cottage cheese cream and the other with the vanilla cream and place one on top of the other. It doesn't matter which one you put atop which.

Leave the cake in the fridge for 3 hours. Cut the strawberries in half, grate the chocolate. Decorate the cake with the strawberries and sprinkle the grated chocolate generously on top.
