How to make
Beat the sugar with the eggs. Add the vanilla and flour. Knead a dough, roll it out into a sheet with a thickness of 3/16 (5 mm).
Using a glass or cookie cutters, cut cookie figurines out. Arrange them in a baking dish, greased with butter. Bake in a moderate oven until golden brown.
While still warm, pierce them with a needle with thick woolen thread or a ribbon and hang the cookies on the tree.
If desired, decorate with egg whites whipped with sugar, coconut flakes, colored sugar sprinkles.
