How to make

Roll out the puff pastry. With a sharp knife, cut out two identical shapes like a Christmas tree.

Sprinkle them with granulated sugar and pierce them with a fork.

Bake the puff pastry at 360°F (180°C) in a preheated oven with a fan, until they're nicely browned. Cool them on a wire rack.

Pour milk into a saucepan, add sugar, egg yolks, flour, flavor with a pinch of vanilla and a pinch of grated lemon peel.

Put the saucepan on the stove and immediately start stirring with a wire whisk, until the cream thickens.

Remove the saucepan from the heat and cool it. In a bowl, whip the sweetened cream. In portions, add it to the egg cream, by beating with a mixer, until a fluffy mixture is obtained.

Pour and spread the cream evenly on one baked crust.

Cover with the other crust and spread it with remaining cream. Arrange sliced almonds all over the surface of your mille feuille.

Scatter the silver pearls here and there and you will have a very tasty, easy and beautiful dessert for the upcoming holidays - Mille Feuille Christmas Tree!

Enjoy!
