How to make
Mix the milk with the lemon juice and let it sit and lump up for a few minutes.
Meanwhile, sift the flour and baking soda into a bowl. Add the salt, sugar and sesame seeds. Mix well.
When the milk has lumped up, pour it into the dry ingredients, add the oil and start kneading the bread dough.
This soda dough should not be kneaded for long, just until the ingredients are combined and it becomes somewhat smooth.
Preheat the oven to 390°F (200°C).
Shape a round loaf and place it in a baking tray, greased or covered with baking paper.
Sprinkle with flour and cut a cross deep into it, so not only will you get the characteristic shape for this bread, but the deep cut will also help bake it successfully.
Put it in the preheated oven and bake the Irish soda bread for about 30 minutes. Cool it on a wire rack and serve it.
Enjoy!
