How to make
For this butter cake, in a bowl, beat together the softened butter (at room temperature), sugar and vanilla until smooth and creamy. Add the eggs, one at a time, whisking constantly. Add the sifted flour, previously mixed with 1 tsp. baking powder, mix again.
Line the bottom of a 8.7″ (22 cm) cake tin with baking paper and spread the mixture evenly over it, leveling it.
Wash, dry and halve the plums, arrange them cut side up on top of the mixture.
Sprinkle them with the cinnamon and sugar. Place the cake tin in an oven preheated to 360°F (180°C) and bake the aromatic fruit cake for about 45 minutes, checking the readiness of the dough with a wooden stick.

If desired, you can serve cream or your favorite vanilla ice cream with the plum cake.
