"A zebra at home, but in the form of a delicious cake"

Ingredients

  • cherries - 1.1 lb (500 g) pitted
  • egg whites - 11
  • flour - 9 oz (250 g)
  • oil - 5.1 fl oz (150 ml)
  • yogurt - 3.5 oz (100 g)
  • cocoa - 2 tbsp.
  • chocolate - 2.8 oz (80 g)
  • vanilla essence - 2 tsp.
  • salt - 1 pinch

How to make

The cherries are placed in a colander to drain.

The flour is sifted along with the salt and vanilla.

8 egg whites are beaten until thick with 7 oz (200 g) of sugar. Add the oil in a thin stream. Next up is the yogurt and finally the flour. Mix the mixture carefully with a spatula.

It is divided into two equal parts. In the first part, add the remaining 1.8 oz (50 g) of flour and the crushed chocolate and in the second - the cocoa.

Line a 10″ (26 cm) round pan with baking paper.

A spoonful of the brown mixture is poured on the bottom, white mixture on top, etc. until you run out of mixture.

The cherries are placed on top.

The Zebra cake is baked at 360°F (180°C) for 35 minutes.

7-8 minutes before the two-color cake is baked, beat the remaining 3 egg whites with the remaining 3.5 oz (100 g) of sugar until thick.

The cake is removed from the oven. The egg white cream is spread over the warm cake and it is placed back into the oven.

Bake for another 15 minutes at 320°F (160°C).

It is left to cool in the mold and then it is removed from it. Let the zebra cake with cherries and chocolate cool on a wire rack.
