How to make
Beat the butter and sugar into a smooth and fluffy cream. Add the eggs one by one while whipping continuously. Gradually add the milk, juice and rind of 1 lemon and the sifted flour and baking powder.
Finally stir with a wooden spoon until uniform. Put the mixture into a small, greased and lightly floured form. Smooth it out slightly, stick the cleaned cherries on top. Mix 2 tbsp (30 g) butter, the brown sugar, flour and a little cinnamon. Use these crumbs to sprinkle the pie on top.
Put it to bake in a preheated 360°F (180 °C) oven for about 30-40 minutes. Towards the end, check if the pie with cherries is baked by poking it with a toothpick. Bake until the toothpick comes out dry.
