How to make
For the batter, sift the flour, add a pinch of salt, baking powder and vanilla. Add the oil, eggs, sugar, yogurt and finely grated lemon peel and beat well.
For the filling, grate the apples with or without the peel. If they are very juicy, they can be left in a sieve to drain a little.
Add the sugar, grinded walnuts and peanuts, cinnamon and breadcrumbs (you can also use crushed ordinary biscuits or ordinary breadcrumbs - the purpose is to absorb the liquid of the apples so that the cake is not too watery).
In a greased baking pan, sprinkle a little flour on the bottom and sides and pour half of the dough mixture, then pour all the filling and the rest of the dough mixture on top. Bake the apple cake at 360°F (180°C) for about 30-35 minutes.
You can serve with a sprinkle of powdered sugar or sweet cherry juice.
