"Consider summer wasted if you dont make at least a few jars of pear jam"

Ingredients

  • pears - 4.4 lb (2 kg)
  • sugar - 2.2 lb (1 kg)
  • citric acid - 1 pinch
  • pectin - 1 tbsp.
  • water - 1 cup
measures

How to make

The pears are washed and peeled. They are cleaned from the seeds and cut into small pieces. They are put in a pot (I used 3 L). Pour the water and add the sugar.

Boil them until soft, initially on high heat, then turn it down (my stove is from 1 to 9 - I turn it down to 4).

It is stirred from time to time so that it does not stick. Flavor to taste, add more sugar if you like. The amount of sugar is approximate, as fruits have different sweetness.

When there is very little syrup left, add the lemon juice and pectin. The stove is turned off, but the pot is not removed. Stir constantly until it stops boiling. The mixture is blended.

Pour the finished marmalade into small jars, close and turn them immediately (still hot) with the lid down to vacuum seal. Leave them for 4-5 hours with the lids down.

The pear marmalade is ready.
