For this apple jam or pear jam, peel the apples/pears, finely chop them, add all of the other ingredients (except the lemon) and boil them on low heat.
When the apples have softened, blend them well with a liquidizer.
Place the apples back onto the hob and boil them again on low heat, while stirring constantly.
Towards the end of boiling, add the lemon juice and let the mixture boil a little longer.
Boil the homemade marmalade to the desired density and distribute it in the jars while it is hot.
Now you have the perfect apple or pear jam!
