"Here is how you can stock up on delicious blackcurrant syrup for the winter"

Ingredients

  • blackcurrant - 1.4 lb (650 g) fruit only
  • sugar - 0.9 lb (400 g)
  • water - 7 fl oz (200 ml)
measures

How to make

Prepare the necessary products, wash the cleaned blackcurrant fruit very well under running water and strain.

Crush the fruit well (can also be through a meat grinder) and pass through a sieve, separating their juice.

Pour the rest of the mixture into a pot and add the water, put on moderate heat and cook after boiling for 5 minutes.

Strain the broth of the fruit through a sieve, dissolve the sugar in it and cook on low heat for about 10-12 minutes.

Add the squeezed juice to the syrup, put it on the stove and after it boils and remove it from the heat.

Wash the preservation containers (glass jars, bottles), put them in a pot and pour water, sterilize them for 5 minutes along with the lids.

Pour the hot homemade syrup into the sterile containers and screw on the lids.

From the specified products you get 17 fl oz (500 ml) of blackcurrant syrup.

Turn the closed containers upside down, wrap them with a blanket and let them cool completely.

Store the blackcurrant syrup in a pantry or cellar.

Successful preparation of this blackcurrant juice for the winter!
