"Dilute with some water and ice and you have the most perfect summer drink"

Ingredients

  • wild mint - about 7 oz (200 g)
  • sugar - 4.4 lb (2 kg)
  • water - 8 cups (2 L) boiled
  • citric acid - 0.7 oz (20 g)
  • lemons - 2
  • food coloring - green, a few drops (optional)
measures

How to make

Wild mint is mossy and light green and very aromatic. It is washed and strained.

The water is boiled /in an electric kettle/ and put in a suitable container, a bucket or something else.

While the water is hot, add the sugar and citric acid, stir with a wooden spoon until it melts.

Allow it to cool, then break the mint with your hands to release the aroma.

Add the sliced lemon, stir, cover and refrigerate for 48 hours.

Then it is strained and the mint is squeezed.

Add a few drops of green food coloring to the homemade syrup if desired.

It is poured into 250 ml bottles or jars and to be safer, boil for 5 minutes to seal the cap.

The resulting no boil syrup from wild mint and lemons is very aromatic and healthy.
