I present to you a classic recipe for Moroccan-Style Mussels with Chickpeas with an interesting and unique taste.
Try them!
Heat the olive oil in a heavy bottomed pan. Sauté onion and garlic for 2 minutes. Then add the cumin, paprika, ginger, cinnamon and cayenne pepper. Mix with a wooden spoon.
Pour the lemon juice.
Add chickpeas and peeled tomatoes. Simmer over medium heat for about 15 minutes, until the juice thickens slightly.
Add the mussels. Cover and cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
Discard any mussels that have not opened.
Add salt and black pepper. Continue cooking uncovered for 2 minutes.
Divide the chickpeas, clams and their juices into soup bowls.
Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with parsley or coriander.
