Ingredients

  • minced meat mixture - 1.1 lb (550 g)
  • wheat - about 3.5 oz (100 g)
  • bread - 1 thick slice, without the crust
  • milk - for soaking the bread, or water
  • eggs - 1 pc.
  • parsley - 4 stalks, the leaves
  • onion - 1/2 onion
  • cumin - 1 tsp. or to taste (ground)
  • black pepper - 1 tsp. or to taste (ground)
  • salt - 1 and 1/2 tsp. or to taste
  • flour - for rolling (corn and wheat mix)
  • oil - for frying

How to make

The wheat is washed and boiled in a large pot until it completely softens. It is strained well. The bread is soaked in milk.

Grate the onion with the minced meat, add the chopped parsley, salt and spices.

Beat the egg into the flavored minced meat and add the boiled wheat and the squeezed from the liquid bread.

Everything is mixed very well and left for 3 hours in the refrigerator.

In case there is a need for thickening, a little more bread is added.

With moistened hands, form meatballs, roll them in flour and fry them in oil heated over moderate heat.

The finished fried meatballs are taken out and placed onto kitchen paper to drain from the fat.

The fried wheat meatballs are served warm with fried peppers, salad or potatoes.
