"A wonderful homemade orange and lemon syrup - served chilled, diluted with water and ice cubes."

Ingredients

  • oranges - 4 pcs.
  • lemons - 2 pcs.
  • sugar - 4.4 lb (2 kg)
  • water - 4 cups (1 liter)
  • citric acid - 1.8 oz (50 g)

How to make

Wash the oranges and lemons very well. We cut them into pieces, then grind them with a meat grinder or in a blender.

Add two kilograms of sugar, one liter of water and fifty grams of citric acid to the resulting mixture.

Pour everything into a large jar, close it with a lid and leave it like this for 12 days, but stir it every day with a wooden spoon.

After twelve days, strain the contents through cheesecloth. It is not boiled.

Serve chilled, diluted with water and ice cubes.
