Ingredients

  • eggs - 8 pcs.
  • sugar - 1 cup + 7 tbsp.
  • oil - 5 tbsp.
  • flour - 1 cup + 5 tbsp.
  • walnuts - 1 cup ground
  • vanilla powder - 2 pcs (each 0.2 g) or essence
  • cocoa - 2 - 3 tbsp.
  • powdered sugar - for sprinkling

How to make

Make the first mixture in the following way: Separate the four egg whites and beat them with 1 cup of sugar. Gradually add the eight egg yolks. Stir. Add 1 cup of flour and 5 tbsp. of oil in portions. Mix, until a smooth sponge cake dough is obtained.

Make the second mixture in the following way: Beat the remaining egg whites with 6 tbsp. sugar into a thick mixture. Add 1 vanilla powder and 5 tbsp. of flour. Mix, until a homogenized mixture is obtained.

Make a filling, by mixing the walnuts with 1 tbsp. of sugar, 1 vanilla powder and 2-3 tbsp. cocoa.

Heat a suitable cake tin. First pour some of the yellow mixture, add the filling, then add the egg white mixture, again the filling and finish off with the yellow mixture.

Bake in a moderately heated oven. A spectacular tricolor sponge cake is obtained. The baked sponge cake is taken out of the cake tin carefully and it is sprinkled with powdered sugar.
