How to make
Boil water in a deep pot.
Add 10.5 oz (300 g) of dried rose hips.
The pot is covered with a lid, it is removed from the heat and left for 30 minutes.
The resulting rosehip decoction is then strained and sugar is added.
Stir, until it has melted.
0.9 lb (400 g) of washed, dried rose hips are placed in a tube of mineral water and poured with the sweetened decoction.
The vessel is covered with cheesecloth and left at room temperature for about 4-5 days.
It is then filtered and bottled.
The homemade rosehip wine is very rich in vitamin C and healthy!
Note: This drink does not last long, so keep it in the fridge and consume it within a shorter time!
The recipe for homemade rosehip wine is from the book canning of fruit and vegetables at home by Lyuba Bozukova and Zahari Zahariev. It was issued in 1959.
