How to make
Knead a soft dough from the flour, butter, yolk, sugar and salt.
Leave it to cool (about 15 minutes, wrapped in plastic in a cool place).
While you are waiting for the dough, beat the eggs + whites with sugar, until a frothy mixture is obtained, add the vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and before the end, the walnuts and a few drops of rum.
From the dough, form two cake layers and put the first one in a baking pan greased with butter. Pour the filling and cover it with the second cake layer.
Prick the top cake layer in several places with a fork and bake it for about 50 minutes at 390°F (200°C).
Take out the walnut cake and sprinkle it with powdered sugar and put it back in the warm oven for another 5 minutes.
Remove it from the oven, cool iit and serve the juicy cocoa and walnut cake.
