Ingredients

  • flour - 7 oz (200 g)
  • baking powder - 1 sachet (15 g)
  • eggs - 2 pcs. XL
  • walnuts - 3.2 oz (90 g)
  • apples - 1 pc. (200 - 220 g)
  • butter - 4.6 oz (130 g) soft
  • rum - 2 caps (dark)
  • lemon - 1/2 juice
  • cinnamon - 1 - 2 pinches (optional)
  • sugar - 5.3 oz (150 g)
  • salt - 1 pinch
measures

How to make

Once you clean the apple and remove its seeds, finely chop it. It can be grinded in a blender, but not into a smooth mixture, but in small pieces. Squeeze the juice of 1/2 lemon and mix the apple with it. This will make the cake very juicy.

The walnuts are also chopped and set aside.

Beat the soft butter along with the sugar until it turns white and becomes fluffy. Then the eggs are beaten one by one, while beating at all times. Until the first has been absorbed, the next is not added. The cream is whipped until it turns white.

Pour the rum, a pinch of salt, cinnamon (if desired) and the flour (in portions) sifted with the baking powder. Stir with a spoon and beat with the mixer, but on a slow setting only until the flour is absorbed.

Add the walnuts and apples and mix everything well.

Pour the mixture into a cake pan, which is greased and floured. Bake the sponge cake in a preheated oven at 360°F (180 degrees) for 35 minutes or until it aquires a golden brown color and is fully baked.

The baked juicy cake with apples and walnuts is separated from the cake form and left to cool down on a wire rack.

Enjoy!
