How to make

The honey is poured into a saucepan with a non-stick coating. Add the sugar and mix very well.

The honey with the sugar is heated at a low temperature, until the sugar melts, then it is removed from the heat.

Pour the spelt flour into the bowl, in which it will be kneaded.

Add the baking powder, salt, cinnamon and vanilla sugar. Mix very well.

Make a well in the middle and add 8 tsp. of water and honey with sugar. Knead a soft dough.

Leave the dough for 30 minutes at room temperature. Then it is rolled out into a 0.2″ (0.5 cm) thick crust.

Christmas trees are cut out with cookie cutters, which are arranged in a tray onto baking paper.

The yolk is beaten well, then the honey cookies are spread with the yolk.

Bake for 15 minutes in a preheated oven at 360°F (180°C).

After they are removed from the oven, they are placed on a wooden board to cool.

The fondant is rolled out into a thin crust onto a silicone mat, which is sprinkled with fine cornmeal.

Christmas trees are cut out with the cookie cutters.

Each baked honey cookie is spread with hazelnut paste, on which a fondant Christmas tree is placed.

The Christmas cookies are stored in a box at room temperature.

The German Spelt Christmas Trees are ready.
