Ingredients

  • butter - 4.5 oz (130 g)
  • sugar - 4.4 oz (125 g)
  • egg yolks - 1 pc.
  • milk - 1/2 cup (125 ml)
  • flour - about 1.05 lb (480 g)
  • baking powder - 1 tbsp (10 g)
  • for the stuffing
  • dates - 50 pcs.
  • almonds - 50 pcs.

  • egg whites - 1 pc.
  • walnuts - 5.3 oz (150 g) coarsely ground
  • sugar - 3.5 oz (100 g)

How to make

Beat the butter with the sugar. Add the yolk and milk.

Finally, add the flour with the baking powder and knead a soft, non-sticky dough. Form 50 identical balls from it.

Roast the almonds for a few minutes in the oven.

Cut open each date, remove the pit and place an almond in its place. Cover the ends of the date well. Do the same with all the dates and almonds.

Place one date in each ball and form oblong sweets. Beat the egg white with a fork. Mix the walnuts and sugar. Dip each sweet first in the egg white, then roll them in the walnuts.

Arrange the sweets on a tray lined with baking paper. Bake at 360°F (180°C) for about 25-30 minutes, or until they aquire a golden brown color.

Remove from the oven and leave them to cool. Store them in a tightly closed container in a cool place.
