"Here is the proof, that the Irish make not only good whiskey, but also delicious bread"

Ingredients

  • flour - 9 oz (250 g)
  • whole grain flour - 9 oz (250 g)
  • soda - 1 tsp.
  • salt - 1/2 tsp.
  • whey - 1 1/5 cups (300 ml)
measures

How to make

Sift both types of flour, salt and baking soda. Make a well and pour the whey, by stirring with a spoon first, then transfer it onto the kitchen counter and knead it.

Form the dough into a ball and place it in a greased baking pan. With a sharp knife, make a deep cross, by reaching the middle of the loaf.

Sprinkle with a little whole grain flour.

Bake the bread at 360°F (180°C) for 30-35 minutes. The soda bread is best if it's on the day it is made.

The Irish Soda Bread is ready.
