How to make
Put the egg and yolk into a bowl, add the sugar and beat with a mixer, until a smooth mixture is obtained.
Mix the milk and the juice of one orange.
Pour it into the egg mixture. Sift the flour along with the baking powder and a pinch of salt. Add it in portions to the egg mixture.
Finely chop the walnuts and add them into the bowl.
Line a 10″ (26 cm) round cake tin with baking paper. Pour the apple cake mixture. Peel and cut the apples into thin strips.
Pour the lemon juice over them and sprinkle with 1 tbsp. of sugar. Arrange them on top of the retro cake and add pieces of butter on top.
Bake the cake at 360°F (180°C) in a preheated oven, until it is fully baked.
Remove the baked cake from the oven and release it from the ring. Cool it on a wire rack.
Pour the milk into a small saucepan. Add the sifted starch with cocoa and sugar. Stir, until the chocolate sauce thickens.
Leave it with a thin consistency. If necessary, add milk.
Cut a piece of the cake, place it on a plate with the chocolate sauce and serve it!
