How to make
In a bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar, until a creamy mixture is obtained. The eggs are added to them one by one.
After the eggs, pour the milk ino a thin stream. The mixture is stirred and add the sifted flour into portions along with the baking powder and vanilla. Stir, until a homogeneous mixture is obtained, which is transferred into a greased and floured baking pan.
The morello cherries are pitted in advance, rolled in flour and arranged in the baking pan.
The cake is baked in a preheated oven at 360°F (180°C).
The readiness of the morello cherry cake is checked with a toothpick. It is ready, if the toothpick comes out dry.
Once cool, the morello cherry cake is sprinkled with powdered sugar.
