How to make

To make wholemeal bread, first mix the flour with the sugar and salt in a deep bowl.

Form a well in the middle and pour the yogurt with soda and vinegar in it. Carefully mix only the contents in the well and set it aside to activate.

Then pour the water and oil and gradually start kneading the dough. Do not knead it for too long - you need to achieve make the ingredients homogeneous.

The homogeneity of the dough depends a lot on the density of the yogurt itself. This means, that you may need to add a little more flour or liquid.

Form a round loaf from the dough. Cover the baking tray with paper and place the bread inside. Sprinkle it with a little flour and make light cuts on its surface.

Keep in mind, that this bread does not need to rise. Immediately put it to bake in a preheated oven at 390°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.

Then reduce the temperature to 360°F (180°C) and bake for another 30 minutes. The bread is ready when it aquires a firm crust and an appetizing color.

The spelt flour soda bread is tasty and easy to prepare, because it does not need to be kneaded for a long time and does not need to be left to rise.

It is healthy, because the main ingredient is spelt flour, but still will not double its volume.
