How to make

Easter is approaching and this inspires us to rush into colorful and fresh adventures in the kitchen.

Besides the traditional Easter bread and Easter cookies, the decorated colored biscuits are one of the most beautiful and colorful Easter treats.

Prepare plain butter pastry dough for biscuits by mixing the powdered sugar with flour. Add the butter and beat the egg.

Knead a smooth dough and divide it into 4 balls, each wrapped in cling film and refrigerate it for about 40 minutes. The dough should be firm and cold.

Take out one of the balls from the refrigerator (the others are left there) and roll it out into a thin 4-5 mm crust.

Cut out bunnies with suitable cookie cutters and arrange them in a tray covered with baking paper.

Bake the Easter cookies at 360°F (180 degrees) in a preheated oven for about 15 minutes or until they aquire a slightly golden color on the edges.

Repeat the same with the rest of the dough, as the last ball can be taken out of the fridge a little earlier so that it does not harden too much. If, however, the dough has hardened a lot, leave it to relax for a bit.

Wait for the baked rabbit biscuits to cool down and start decorating them with colors and patterns - get creative.

For the decoration, you can use ready-made icing or you can prepare it yourself from the listed products. Mix the egg whites with the powdered sugar and lemon juice and divide it into as many parts as you want to make the colors. Color them with your chosen confectionery paint colors.

To paint the sweets, use a bag with a cut edge or a special piping bag with a thin tip.

Arrange the finished decorated homemade biscuits on a layer of baking paper or place them back into the tray and wait for the icing to harden.

Another option is, if you do not want to use raw egg white, then color melted white chocolate with the confectionery paint and paint the biscuits.

For a festive and cheerful mood, try these cute Easter Bunny Biscuits!

Enjoy!
