Here's how to make one of the most delicious English desserts, which is loved and prepared all around the world.

The name Banoffee is just a combination of the words banana and toffee. Banoffee pie is a great combination of aroma and taste and people will always ask for the recipe after trying it. It is difficult to resist a dessert with Dulce de leche, fragrant bananas covered with soft whipped cream. I added peanuts as an extra (you can skip the peanuts).

To complete the look of the Banoffee pie, garnish it with whipped cream, bananas and pieces of chocolate or chocolate sprinkles. The hardest part in the pie recipe was me having to wait, so that I can take a picture of it, they wanted me to serve it right away and the result is in the pictures! I am convinced, that you will make an even better Banoffee pie.

Beat the butter (room temperature) with the sugar.

Add the eggs one at a time, while continuing to beat.

Sift the flour with the baking powder and gradually add it to the mixture with the eggs and butter. Knead the dough.

Sprinkle the mold (diameter 8.5″ /22 cm/) with flour and spread out the dough in it, make a 1.2″ (3 cm) boarder from the dough on the sides. If you use a small mold (7″ /18 cm/), make it 2″ (5 cm).

Preparation for baking the base with peanuts.

Place the peanuts on the dough, add salt and pour the condensed milk on top. This way, while baking the base, the peanuts are baked and the condensed milk is caramelized. It is very important to use quality condensed milk for baking.

If you have ready-made Dulce de Leche, skip this step.

Just bake the base for the pie and pour the Dulce de leche (mixed with peanuts), arrange the bananas and garnish it with cream.

Bake at 360°F (180°C) in a preheated oven, 35-40 minutes, until it aquires a caramel color. Keep an eye on your oven! The sumptuous sweet pie is ready when the peanuts are roasted and the milk is lightly caramelized and the base is baked (do not bake it for too long, so that you don't make the caramel darker).

Then leave the pie to cool completely.

Cut the bananas, arrange them in one layer on top of the filling. If you wish, pour the dulce de leche on the arranged bananas (as I did) and garnish with the cream.

Spread whipped cream on top of the bananas and sprinkle with chocolate shavings or chocolate sprinkles and caramelized peanuts.

Place your Banoffee Pie in the refrigerator to cool well and serve it.
