How to make
Grate the yellow part of the orange peel on a very fine grater and squeeze 3 1/3 tbsp (50 ml) of their juice.
Sift the flour into a bowl and add the cold butter inside, by cutting it into thin pieces. Start kneading the mixture with your fingers, until fine crumbs are obtained. Try to do it quickly, so that the butter does not soften from the heat of your hands. There is also a special metal device for this purpose, so if you have it, use it.
Add the sugar, wine, orange juice and peel and knead the dough. Shape it into a ball and refrigerate it for 1-2 hours.
On a floured surface or between two sheets of baking paper, roll out the dough into a 0.4″ (1 cm) thick crust. Cut them out with Christmas molds and arrange them in a wide tray.
Bake for 20-25 minutes in a preheated oven at 370°F (190 degrees) with the upper and lower resistor wire on.
Leave the baked sweets to cool and roll them in powdered sugar. Decorate them with sugar figurines or however you like.
Extremely fragrant sweets, that you will fall in love with.
Enjoy! The Christmas Orange Hojaldrinas are ready.
