"Would you have guessed they were vegan if I didn`t say anything?"

Ingredients

  • oats - 2 tablespoons
  • lemon zest - of 1 lemon
  • chocolate - 3 oz (80 g) natural
  • salt - 1 pinch
  • sugar - 4/5 cup (200 g)
  • water - 1/2 cup (125 ml)
  • flour - 1 2/3 cups (400 g)
  • baking soda - 1 tsp (5 g)

How to make

Melt the chocolate in a water bath and stir it with the sugar. Add the lemon zest and make sure that the mixture has cooled before adding the other ingredients.

Add baking soda, oats, flour and a pinch of salt, to obtain a homogeneous soft dough. If you need more liquid, add fresh squeezed orange juice. Shape the dough into balls on a tray with baking paper.

Bake the biscuits in a pre-heated moderate oven until they get a nice tan.
