Ingredients

  • strawberries - 2.2 lb (1 kg)
  • sugar - 1.3 lb (600 g)
  • water - 7.5 cups (1.5 l)
  • citric acid - 2 tsp.

How to make

The peeled strawberries are sprinkled with sugar in a pot and are left overnight in a cool place.

The next day, mix them well with the resulting syrup, pour about a liter and a half of water and boil the mixture on a moderate heat for 5-10 minutes.

Remove it from the heat and add citric acid and stir, until it has melted.

Strain it through a sieve into another container, by pressing the fruit with a spoon, so that there is no more juice left in them.

When it cools down pour it into glass bottles and close them with a lid.

Leave it in the fridge for quick consumption, by diluting it with carbonated or mineral water.

Serve it with ice cubes and a sprig of mint.

A refreshing and great for the heat!

If you want you can sterilize the bottles for 10 minutes just for the lids and arrange them in the cupboard for winter :))
