How to make

First, boil the water and sugar in a pot, until it has melted and leave it to cool.

In the warm milk with a spoonful of sugar crumble the yeast, add 3 tbsp. of flour and stir until a thin paste is obtained. Leave it to rise and knead a medium soft dough with the other products, by adding another 2-3 tbsp. of oil during the kneading process.

Knead until it absorbs the fat. Leave the dough to rise, greased with oil and covered with foil for 40-50 minutes.

Divide it into tangerine-sized balls and cut each one into two pieces.

Thin elongated sticks are formed by hand - 16″ (40 cm) long and the two of them are twisted and the ends are connected to form a pretzel.

Dip each one in the sugar syrup, drain them from the excess and arrange them in a large baking pan onto baking paper.

Leave the pretzels for a short time, about 10 minutes, spread them with a beaten egg yolk with 1 tbsp. of oil and 1 tbsp. of water and sprinkle either just sesame seeds or sesame and poppy seeds.

Bake them in a preheated oven at 360°F (180°C) for about 20 minutes until they aquire an appetizing color. Take them out and transfer them into a tray.

It was a way to prep for the upcoming holidays. The Christmas pretzels are very tasty and they disappeared in an instant.

Prepare them, they are great!
