Ingredients

  • butter - 7 oz (200 g)
  • sugar - 5.3 oz (150 g)
  • ground almonds - 4.4 oz (125 g)
  • salt - 1/2 tsp.
  • eggs - 1
  • flour - 8.8 oz (250 g)
  • cinnamon - 1/2 tsp.
  • vanilla - 1 sachet (2 g)
  • nutmeg - 1 pinch
  • marmalade - optional
  • powdered sugar - for sprinkling

How to make

First, beat the sugar, butter and salt in a suitable bowl. Add the ground almonds and mix everything with a spatula. Add the vanilla, egg and stir again.

Finally, add the pre-sifted flour, nutmeg and cinnamon.

Knead a soft dough, which is wrapped in cling film and left to set in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.

Roll out the cookie dough on a well floured surface. A 0.12″ (3 mm) thick crust should be obtained. Cut out the figures and arrange them in a tray lined with baking paper.

Bake the linzer cookies in a preheated oven at 360°F (180 degrees), until you see that their edges turn aquire a pleasant color.

Once they cool, stick the cookies to each other with marmalade and sprinkle them with powdered sugar.
