How to make
Sift the flour and baking powder into a bowl. Add the vanilla sugar, vanilla essence, softened butter and egg.
From all of the products knead a smooth dough. Form it into a ball and place it in the refrigerator to cool and set.
The dough is then rolled out onto a floured surface.
Wreaths are cut out from it with the help of cookie cutters or cups of different diameters.
Arrange them in a baking tray lined with parchment paper and place them in the oven.
Bake the Christmas cookies at 360°F (180°C) for about 10 minutes or until the edges aquire an appetizing color. The finished vanilla Christmas wreaths are covered with royal icing and decorated with rosemary leaves and pearls.
To prepare the glaze, it is necessary to mix the egg white, sifted powdered sugar, cornstarch and lemon juice in a deep bowl.
Beat with a mixer or wire stirrer until a smooth mixture is obtained.
The glaze is transferred into a piping bag and it is piped out on the sweet wreaths.
The decoration is placed immediately, before the royal icing has set.
