"Christmas is the warmest holiday in the cold weather and the the Christmas pastries contribute to that as well, when prepared with a lot of love - in this case were talking about orange crescents"

Ingredients

  • flour - 9.2 oz (260 g)
  • powdered sugar - 2.5 oz (70 g)
  • eggs - 1 pc.
  • butter - 4.6 oz (130 g)
  • baking powder - a pinch
  • oranges - grated peel
  • orange juice - 3.5 oz (100 g)
measures

How to make

Put the sifted flour with a pinch of baking powder and a pinch of salt into a bowl.

Add 1 egg, 2.5 oz (70 g) of powdered sugar, butter (cut into pieces) and the grated peel of 1 orange. Knead a soft dough.

Wrap the kneaded dough in a piece of nylon and refrigerate it for 1 hour. Roll out the cooled dough onto a floured surface with a thickness of 0.16″ (4 mm).

Cut out circles with a glass. In the middle of each circle put 1 teaspoon of orange jam or another one according to your taste.

Fold the circle into a crescent. With a fork, press the edges well, so that they do not open up during baking.

Arrange the Christmas pastries in a tray lined with parchment paper.

Bake them at 360°F (180°C) in a preheated oven for 10 minutes or until they're nicely browned.

Sprinkle the baked Christmas orange crescents with powdered sugar!
