How to make
Knead the dough and leave it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Peel the apples and grate them. Add them to the other products for the filling.
Separate a small ball from the dough for decoration (strips on top).
In a baking pan with a diameter of about 10.2″ (26 cm) add the oil or butter. Roll out the dough into a base, which is a bit larger. Place it in the baking pan, so that it forms a boarder.
Sprinkle the base with the ground walnuts.
Pour the filling and distribute it evenly.
With the small ball of dough prepare 10-12 strips, which are 1.5 - 2 cm wide and intertwine them like a grid on the filling of the apple pie.
Spread the shaped grid with the yolk and bake the classic apple pie for 40-50 minutes at 360°F (180 degrees).
