How to make
Put the milk, eggs and 5 tablespoons of sugar in a deep bowl. Separately mash the turron with a fork. If you find it difficult to find almond turron, you can use another type of halva, it just needs to be soft and crumbly at the same time.
Add the turron crumbs to the other mixture and blend until a smooth mixture is obtained. You use a blender.
Caramelize the sugar (you can add more than 8 tablespoons, if you like) and pour it into fireproof cups. Allow the caramel to set and pour the flan mixture without filling them to the top.
Bake them in a water bath for 1 hour in a preheated oven at 250°F (120 degrees) without a fan. Check them with a stick, in order to see if they have set enough and if you decide you can bake them a while longer. It becomes quite thick due to the presence of turron - it creates density and an unique texture and the taste is indescribable.
Wait for it to cool well and turn it over onto a plate, by passing a knife along the edges of the cup beforehand.
Garnish the creme caramel with a little cream and decorate it to your liking.
A simple dessert, which is easy and very tasty. It is often prepared after the Christmas and New Year holidays, when there is a lot of this halva leftover in every home, which is traditionally consumed at that time and the Spanish use it by preparing flan de turron. If you get find turron, don't hesitate to try it too!
