Ingredients

  • orange - 1 pc. (with a thin peel)
  • eggs - 3 pcs.
  • sugar - 7 oz (200 g)
  • oil - 2.4 fl oz (70 ml)
  • baking powder - 1 pc.
  • flour - 6 oz (170 g)
  • salt - 1 pinch
  • For the ganache
  • cream - 1 cup (200 ml)
  • milk chocolate - 7 oz (200 g)
  • butter - 2 tbsp.
  • honey - 2 tbsp.

How to make

Wash the orange very well and cut it into pieces along with the peel and if it has a thicker peel, remove the white part.

Put the orange pieces in the blender bowl and add the eggs, sugar and oil. Blend and transfer the mixture into a bowl.

Add the flour with the baking powder and mix with a wire stirrer until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.

Line a form with a diameter of 7.9″ (20 cm) with parchment paper and pour the mixture in it. Bake it in a preheated oven at 340°F (170 degrees) for about 30 minutes on low heat only. Leave the baked cake layer to cool.

Break the chocolate in a bowl. Mix the cream, butter, honey and heat them to boiling point. Pour the chocolate over them and leave the mixture for two minutes without stirring it.

After two minutes, stir until the chocolate has completely melted. Leave it to cool slightly for 5 minutes.

Cut the cooled cake layer into two parts. With 4-5 tbsp. smear one part of the cake layer and cover it with the other.

Drizzle the cake with the remaining ganache and decorate it to your liking.

The orange cake with chocolate ganache is ready.
